The Municipality of Port Hope and our community partners are hosting the Port Hope Arts Festival on Saturday August 13. Our in-person Arts Festival will take place in downtown Port Hope on between 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. The event will feature a 10-Minute Play Series, Art Around Town, an outdoor vendor market, wagon rides, and a community gathering in the park. You can expect activities for the kids, an outdoor movie and other fun surprises! Reminder, there will be a special outdoor movie presentation August 13 at dusk - showing the documentary Long Time Running! Follow the facebook event page and Festival website for updates and announcements. The Municipality recognizes August as Arts Month. Our vision for Arts Month is to encourage an organic community celebration of the arts by extending an open invitation to get creative and curious. During Arts Month, we empower residents, organizations and businesses to present activities, digital content or displays that engage folks in experiences that educate, inspire, and connect us to a variety of artistic mediums. Participation could be private, and may include reaching out to a local artist to tell them you admire their talents, purchasing a unique art piece, trying your hand at or experiencing a new art form. Participation could also be more public, like hosting a workshop, sharing a work-in-progress or tips online. Ultimately, the goal is to have some creative, community fun.
