Whereas a public library is a community gathering place which provides equal access to information, knowledge, culture and learning resources; and
Whereas Port Hope Public Library creates a welcoming environment for everyone to celebrate the joy of literacy, learning, creating, community and cultural exchange; and
Whereas Port Hope Public Library engages the people of the Municipality of Port Hope through services, spaces and resources to enrich their lives and the life of our community;
Now, Therefore, I Olena Hankivsky, Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope do hereby proclaim the month of October 2024 as Canadian Library Month, and October 21-27 as Public Library Week within the Municipality of Port Hope.
