Whereas public libraries are community institutions that provide equitable access to information, knowledge, culture, and lifelong learning opportunities for all; and 

Whereas Port Hope Public Library creates a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals of all ages can explore the joy of reading, learning, creativity, and connection; and 

Whereas Port Hope Public Library continues to enrich the lives of residents through innovative programs, accessible resources, and dynamic spaces that support personal growth, education, and community engagement; and 

Whereas this year’s theme, “Libraries for Life,” celebrates the enduring role libraries play in supporting individuals throughout every stage of life—from early literacy to career development, digital literacy, and lifelong learning; 

Now, Therefore, I Olena Hankivsky, Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope do hereby proclaim October 19-25, 2025 as Public Library Week within the Municipality of Port Hope.
