Black History Month Open House – Rooted in Northumberland
Join the community for a vibrant and welcoming Black History Month Open House
celebrating history, culture, and contribution right here in Northumberland County.
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Northumberland,” highlights the deep roots, resilience, and
ongoing contributions of Black communities locally and across Canada.
All are welcome to
come together for an afternoon of connection, learning, and celebration.

Enjoy:
• Free soup, Jamaican beef patty, and beverage
• Community conversation and cultural celebration
• Black History Month displays and resources
• Black History Month T-shirts available for pre-order (Proceeds support the Steel Band
Concert at Memorial Park in September 2026)
Community Care Northumberland – Meals on Wheels Program will be in attendance to
accept donations in commemoration of Black History Month. Donations may also be made
online at www.commcare.ca.
This is a free, family-friendly event and an opportunity to celebrate Black history while
supporting vital community services.
Come out, bring a friend, and be part of a meaningful community gathering that honours the
past, celebrates the present, and looks toward the future.
