Perform Live on a Professional Stage!
SONG is giving local youth (under 21) access to a professional stage. We provide the soundcheck, industry mentorship, food and green room. You provide the talent!
Details:
- When: Friday, Feb 20.
- Timing: 4:00pm-6pm Soundcheck/Rehearsal with participants, 6pm-6:45 pizza dinner & Artist Mentor session, 7pm-8pm performance
- Location: Capitol Theatre (Sculthorpe Stage), 20 Queen St, Port Hope, ON
- Bring: Any instrument you plan to use for your performance
Our Sunrise Rotary Artist Mentor for this Soundstage is Ian McKeown, a multi-instrumentalist based in Port Hope. He plays drums for Brooks and Bowskill, co-fronted by longtime collaborator Jim Bowskill. He also plays bass for Union Duke, Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, and Nicholas Campbell. He has appeared on records by Greg Keelor, Julian Taylor, Alyson McNamara, Steve Marriner, Matthew Barber, and others. He is also a member of Runaway Twain, a tribute to Shania Twain, and Ocean Men, a tribute to Ween.
Performance slots assigned in the order registrations are received. Depending on registrations performers may be limited to one song.
This is an All Ages Show in collaboration with our venue sponsor The Capitol Theatre. Parents, guardians, friends, and family are welcome to attend!
