2026 Municipal and School Board Elections - Candidate Information Session
Are you thinking about running for Municipal Council or School Board Trustee in this year’s municipal election?
The Municipality of Port Hope is hosting a candidate information session in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. This session will outline election legislation, financial filing requirements, requirements of each role, and help you decide if serving on Municipal Council or the School Board is right for you. Anyone thinking about running is encouraged to attend.

- Location: In-person. Council Chambers, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope, ON, L1A 3Z9
Representatives from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing will cover election legislation, financial filing requirements, and third-party advertisers.
At this session, the Municipality’s Clerk’s Team will walk you through the nomination process and will be available to answer questions.
Can’t Attend? If you are unable to attend this session, the Municipality of Port Hope will also be participating in a joint candidate information session hosted by Northumberland County. More details will be shared soon.
