Whereas MS is one of the most common neurological diseases affecting young adults, often diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 49, and impacts individuals, families, and communities in profound ways; and
Whereas the symptoms of multiple sclerosis vary widely and may include fatigue, lack of coordination, weakness, tingling, impaired sensation, vision problems, bladder and bowel challenges, as well as cognitive and mood changes; and
Whereas the cause of MS remains unknown, but is believed to result from a complex combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle risk factors; and
Whereas Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, underscoring the need for continued awareness, research, and support for those affected; and
Whereas the efforts of organizations, volunteers, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community fundraising initiatives support research, advocacy, and programs that improve the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis and advance progress toward a cure;
