A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the Committee Room at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
At this meeting, Council will proceed in closed session in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O., c.25 in order to address personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Section 239(2)(b); labour relations or employee negotiations - Section 239 (2)(d); a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - Section 239 (2)(c) and litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the Municipality or local board - Section 239 (2)(e).
The purpose of this Special Council Meeting is to provide Council with a confidential update from the Chief Administrative Officer on matters pertaining to:
·Identifiable individuals;
·Labour relations;
·Ongoing negotiations related to the potential acquisition or disposition of land; and
·Legal matters.
Council will also receive education and training on innovative technologies in municipal governance, in accordance with Section 239(3.1) of the Municipal Act, 2001. No decisions will be made during this portion of the meeting.
In addition, prior to proceeding in closed session and due to urgent timelines, Council will consider correspondence from Northumberland County regarding the Northumberland Physician Recruitment Advisory Committee, during the open session of the meeting.
